This ryokan is a wonderful find. It is a great value for its location and facilities. It is located close to a major station that is a good starting point to see Tokyo. The facilities are cozy, comfortable, and clean. It felt more like staying at a Japanese grandparents' house than a hotel. The building is old but the facilities are modern. If you want to experience some of the true charm of Japan, stay here.

The Ryokan Maizuru was a truly wonderful place to stay if you\'re looking for a more authentic Japanese experience. The staff were kind and friendly and had loads of suggestions for places for us to go, and the tatami rooms were beautiful and came with a kotatsu and Japanese pyjamas included, useful for a quick bathroom run! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the bath and futon sets in particular. Would definitely stay there again as it is only 4 stops from Ueno.

Mukaitaki has a very warm, relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and I would heartily recommend it to anyone seeking a ryokan in Aizu. The food an its presentation are beyond compare with delicious flavors and aromas at each meal! The views from our room onto the garden are splendid. The staff are very friendly, caring and extremely welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the baths both private and ladies bath and found the Mukaitaki a very charming ryokan and look forward to returning some day. My son and his family also plan to travel to Aizu to stay at Mukaitaki.

We had an excellent time here Print E-mail

We had an excellent time here, the place has a great traditional charm and we both discovered just how comfortable tatami mats really are. The hot tub was a great bonus and very relaxing after long days of discovering the city. The location was great as it had some brilliant restaurants and shops nearby, but was also a short walking distance to Kita Senju station. There was also a 7 Elleven nearby, whcih was handy for when we needed to take out cash on non-Japanese cards.

 Homeikan

Homeikan is a fantastic place to stay in Tokyo. It is a beautiful old traditional Japanese inn, all wooden, very unusual. The staff are excellent. and the rooms very comfortable, all with tatami mats, and a lot of character. The only drawbacks are that there are shared bathrooms, in the Japanese style, and the walls are thin, so if anyone near you is being noisy at night, you do hear it.
